MQM warns against Karachi Talibanisation

LAHORE: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has warned of a conspiracy to ‘Talibanise’ people in Karachi and has demanded the government to take action against extremist elements throughout the city, a private television channel reported on Thursday. According to Dawn News, a meeting of the MQM’s co-ordination committee held in London said the extremist elements were entering the metropolis and spreading Talibanisation under the supervision of the establishment and its agencies. The committee members observed that these extremist elements were involved in looting, forcibly occupying land and wall-chalking, it said. They expressed their party’s resolve to stop these extremists from disturbing peace in Karachi. daily times monitor
